YOUTH BASKETBALL PROGRAM & CLINIC SCHEDULE

 

2011 Required Clinic Schedule

2011-2012 Game Times

 

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: This recreational league is open to boys and girls grades 3 and up. Any players (boys or girls) who are on Travel or School teams will not be able to participate in the Community Education League. Parents can register and will receive 90% refunds if their children later make these more competitive teams. Once school and Travel teams are set, they send us rosters so we can remove the children and process refunds. All participants in our league have an equal opportunity to play and are placed on teams to achieve balanced competition.

 

WHEN: Games will be played on Saturday. Weekday practices will be scheduled one day a week based on gym availability. All participants are required to attend the opening clinic at the times and locations listed below. Children will be given skill instruction and evaluated for later team selection. Participants should wear appropriate clothing and sneakers. Basketballs will be provided.

 

COACHES: In order for the league to run smoothly, VOLUNTEERS are NEEDED to serve as league directors and team coaches. PLEASE NOTE: Up to 2 children of a coach/director may participate at a reduced price. Final selection of coaches will be at the discretion of the league director. If you are interested in serving as a league director or coach, please note this on your child's registration form. Coaches will be reimbursed $50 each for up to 2 children once the coach selections have been made.

 

STUDENT COACHES: High School students in grades 11 or 12 are eligible to coach with parent supervision. Anyone interested should email Luanne Flood at lflood@mail.ab.mec.edu. Please no walk-ins or phone calls.

 

REGISTRATION PROCESS: League selection will be based on a lottery system. Please fill out the registration form and return it either in person, by mail or via fax (978-266-2540) to the Community Education office. We will be accepting forms from August 22nd through September 19th at 5:00 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Registration forms received after September 19th will NOT be in the lottery and those players will be added to the program, in the order they were received, on a space available basis only.

 

PLACEMENT: League placement information will be posted on our website at noon October 3rd.

 

REFUND POLICY: To receive a 90% refund, players must withdraw from the league no later than November 17th for grades 3-6 and December 1st for grades 7-12. Community Ed will not provide refunds after these dates unless a player makes a Travel or School team.
