BEGINNING GLASSBLOWING #BGLASS
In this hands-on introductory workshop, students will learn the basics of blowing and manipulating glass. They will then create simple glass objects, such as colorful paperweights, flowers, bud vases, bowls, and other blown vessels. Glassblowing is the art of gathering molten glass out of a furnace and inflating it into a bubble with the aid of a blowpipe. The glass is shaped with various tools and reheated until the desired form is achieved, then placed in an annealing oven overnight to slowly cool down. No glassblowing experience necessary. Students under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult. For ALL classes listed on this page, please wear cotton or natural fiber clothing, long pants and closed-toe shoes. Limit 6 per class.
