THE DEEP BLUE SEA
(Entering grades 2-5)

The Deep Blue Sea introduces kids to different denizens of the deep and the watery world that they call home. Study the salty ocean and its cycle of tides. Create model seabirds and build your own compass. Visit coral reefs and the amazing creatures that call them home. Discover what life could be like without a backbone, and how you could survive and prosper by sitting in one place and sucking in sea-water. Find out fabulous facts about the world's biggest animals. Have a whale of a time and try on some blubber for size. Meet the oceans most efficient predators, and see why they aren't really at all interested in nibbling on your leg. Lastly, learn how some of these amazing animals light up their world, and then light up your own with a glow-in-the-dark masterpiece! You'll never look the same way at your vacation at the beach! Children should bring a clearly labeled backpack with them every day. Because we may be outside for some of the day, the backpack should contain sun-block labeled with the child's name. All children should bring a snack. Children should also bring a liter of drinking water every day. In case of accidents, back packs should also contain a change of clothes.
