THE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS PROCESS

 

Susan Wachter

This course will give you an overview of the college admissions process. We will review when to start the process. We will discuss choosing the appropriate schools, college visits, the pros and cons of The Common Application, and the variety of college admissions exams. We will also touch on the admission options of Early Decision and Early Action, your timetable, when and if to interview and key organizational strategies to keep your process structured. This class will be useful for parents of Freshman through Juniors and students are encouraged to attend as well. Susan R. Wachter is an Independent College Consultant who works with high school students and their families assisting with the college admissions process. She is a former admissions officer at New York University, Boston University, American University, and the University of Baltimore. Ms. Wachter holds a B.S. from Boston University in Secondary Education and an M.S. from The Johns Hopkins University in Adult and Continuing Education.
