DON'T FALL! #FALL

Susan Eppling

More than one in three people age 65 and older fall each year. Falls often result in injuries that drastically impair one's ability to live independently. But falls are not an inevitable part of aging. There are lifestyle changes that can be made to reduce the risk of falling. Learn what you can do right now to prevent falls. This hands-on course will explore concerns about falling and teach smart strategies to prevent falls. Better balance exercises, home safety tips, vision enhancement, and gait and mobility assessments will help you become stronger, safer, and more independent. Opportunities to try out adaptive equipment for the home and workplace will also be available. Do you have a parent or spouse who is at risk of falling? Sign them up for the class and you can come along for free! Please wear walking shoes. Suzy Eppling is an occupational therapist who specializes in sensory integration, fall prevention, and low vision rehabilitation.
