BEGINNING HAND DRUMMING #DRUM

This class is for anyone interested in learning how to play African and Latin rhythms on hand drums. If you have a Conga, Ashiko, or Djembe and have not yet learned basic technique and hand patterns, come find out how much joy you can get from playing your drum. By the end of this class you will be able to read a basic notation for writing out rhythms and play at least 8 rhythms in all their parts. A beginning rhythm training DVD will be available for $25. You can bring your own drum, buy, or rent one. For rental information or questions about drums, phone the instructor at 781-305-3565. Drum rental is $75. A parent must accompany students younger than age 16. Mike is a therapist at Colebrook High School in Acton. He has taught hand drumming since 1997 in Acton, Hudson, and Lunenburg.
