FULL BODY ACTIVE STRETCHING FOR EVERYBODY #FULLBarry Bailey, MS, LMTFull Body Active Stretching for EveryBODY releases muscle
tightness, relaxes muscles and reduces overall stress. Active
Stretching helps muscles recover from use and overuse. It increases
flexibility and range of motion. In each session, we will address the
large muscle groups of the body to get a total, head to toe stretch.
Stretches are done without force and without pain. Some stretches are
done with assistance from a rope. Special attention will be given to
breathing and working within each individual's limitations and
comfort zone. Unlike Static Stretching that goes into a stretch and
holds for 5, 10, 15 or more seconds, Active Stretching uses a
constant motion to create a Mind-Body connection with efficiently
lets the brain instruct muscles to relax and let go. Stretches are
only held briefly, and repeated. Active Stretching lengthens muscles
and improves flexibility through the use of natural movements of the
body. Active Stretching is gentle but powerful. It is appropriate for
use by all ages and all levels of physical fitness. Classes are
relaxing, yet challenging. Active Stretching is an excellent
compliment to a Yoga class or workout at the gym or track. Muscles
recover sooner and soreness leaves faster when using Active
Stretching after a workout. Your Yoga class will be more beneficial
by doing Active Stretching beforehand. Active Stretching is based on
the Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) developed by Aaron Mattes. AIS
has been used by some of the world's top athletes. Users of AIS
include Lance Armstrong, Michael Johnson, Tiger Woods, The Chicago
