Acton-Boxborough area teens can participate in a half day (4.5 hours) crash prevention training class at a special discount throughout the year and during special AB Teen days.
What is crash prevention training?
Whether you know us as Skid School, Advanced Driver Training or a Driver Skills Development Program, In Control has been providing the nation's first state certified crash prevention training to area teens since 2003. The program supplements traditional driver education and makes drivers feel more confident in their ability to control their car. The program has been shown to reduce crash rates in new drivers by 70% and graduates may qualify for auto insurance discounts from 5% to 10%.
Who: Acton-Boxborough area teens (with learners permit + 10 hours driving or driver's license; parents are encouraged to attend). Parents can observe for free - helps reinforce the training (& drivers of all ages learn a lot!)
What: 4.5 hour class. Closed course, hands-on advanced driving instruction. Learn through SAFE hands-on practice: panic stops, ABS brake use, skid control, the dangers of tailgating and distracted driving (including anti-texting drills) and more.
When: Half day classes are offered most Saturdays, Sundays and many weekdays. Special AB Area Teen Days planned each Spring and Fall.
