BEGINNING JAZZ BAND #JBAND

If you are a second or third year instrumentalist, currently participating in the elementary band program and you have an interest in jazz, this year-long group is for you! Music of jazz and rock styles will be rehearsed and performed. Students will learn to play and improvize in the jazz style, America's original art form. Rehearsals will be held once a week, September through June, concluding with a concert, time and place TBA. So don't be shy, come out and jive. Indicate your instrument on the registration form. PLEASE NOTE: Transportation to and from jazz band is not provided. Supervision for this activity begins at the start of the class, not at the end of the school day. A real bargain at less than $8 per class! Limit 25.

** Since space for certain instruments is limited, piano, drums, bass and guitar players will have an initial audition. This session will be held on Thursday, September 10 at 1:15 p.m. in the Douglas Music Room. Students who play any of these instruments should register with Community Ed., but no fee will be charged until after the audition.
