PAPERWEIGHTS AT THE FURNACE #PAPERWEIGHT

 

Learn how to make glass paperweights! In this class students will get one on one instruction in how to make paperweights by adding color and other artistic inclusions into molten glass. Glassblowing is the art of gathering molten glass out of a furnace and inflating it into a bubble with the aid of a blowpipe. The glass is shaped with various tools and reheated until the desired form is achieved, then placed in an annealing oven overnight to slowly cool down. No glassblowing experience necessary. Students under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult. For ALL classes listed on this page, please wear cotton or natural fiber clothing, long pants and closed-toe shoes. Limit 6 per class.
