PERFORMANCE HAND DRUMMING #PDRUM(Ages 16+)
Michael Morse This class is oriented toward experienced drummers, using low-key performances as a vehicle for sharpening technical skills and increasing ones ability to play musically with other drummers. If you have mastered beginning techniques, this class may be for you (contact the instructor if you have questions or if you are under the age of 16 and interested in the class). We work on subtleties of technique and rhythm, soloing, Dunun and Bell parts, and stage presence. Performances will be held on October 24th and December 1st. Past performances have included the "Hudson Holiday Stroll", an open house at Frederick Scott Gallery, and the Marlborough Discovery Series and a benefit concert for Helping Hand Food Pantry. If you know of other venues interested in a performance of African rhythms or have questions about this class, contact the instructor at 781-305-3565. PLEASE NOTE CLASS DATES BELOW. Mike Morse is a therapist at Colebrook High School in Acton. He has taught hand drumming since 1997 in Acton, Hudson, and Lunenbery. He also builds drums. Find out more at namastedrumming.com.
