TECHNIQUES FOR BETTER POSTURE #POSTURE
Barry Bailey, MS, LMTThis class is for anyone who wants to quickly learn how to have Better Posture. In this class you will begin by learning the various causes of Poor Posture, some of which you learned in your early childhood. Learn why "pull your shoulders back" and "stand up straight" are useless words of advice. In class you will learn how to recognize the elements of poor posture and poor body mechanics, and discover how to eliminate poor posture with simple life style changes and fast, effective transformational exercises. You will discover that years of poor posture, can be altered, and Better Posture achieved quickly, and then maintained with relatively little effort. Using simple techniques from the class, you will stand straighter and taller. You will think more clearly and creatively. You will understand how poor posture often causes pain, and what you can do to change that. You will learn how not to instill poor posture patterns on young, developing children. You will have more energy and have the knowledge and tools to spot poor posture in yourself and others, and know how to remedy this to create Better Posture. This class will enable you to be a disciple of Better Posture, by giving you the tools that enable you to share the information that will help your family, friends and co-workers gain Better Posture and a better life. This class can be beneficial for those of all ages, from children to the elderly. Students should bring an exercise mat, heavy blanket or sleeping bag for floor work. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow free, unrestricted movement. Barry is a licensed Massage Therapist. He studied Active Isolated Stretching with Aaron Mattes as well as with Jim and Phil Wharton whose book The Wharton's Stretch Book is a good reference for this class. He has offered stretching workshops since 1998. Limit 10.
